Lesson 73 - Marble painting

Today the children had a fun project. We used marbles to paint a picture. We began by taking a plastic tray and placing a plain piece of paper inside. Next we dipped different sized marbles in three different colors of paint. Each child received three to four marbles in their tray, and they proceeded to roll the marbles inside their tray until their marbles "dried" and no more paint was left.
They repeated the process once again with different colors, and in the end they used four different marbles dipped in different colors at the same time.

We proceeded to add another paper on top with a cut-out piece, so that they were able to marble paint a picture only on the cut-out part of the paper. When we lifted off the first sheet, the silhouette of the cut-out shape appeared.

The children had fun rolling their marbles around the papers and made some pretty awesome abstract art.
