Lesson 69 - Valentine's Heart Stamping

Around February we remember those that we love in our life on Valentine's day. This year the children decided to make a stamped heart art on canvas. Each child was given a small canvas and asked to dab two different paint colors using a paper towel. Some were very careful not to add too much paint but to dab the canvas sporadically with the paper towel. After the first color was laid out, we added another to overlap and fill in the white space. Some children decided they would rather just paint their canvas with brushes, which also turned out nicely.
Next we took a large heart stamp and added red paint to it. The children then took turns stamping their heart on their canvas. For the finishing touch, they added small heart cut-outs made out of tissue paper. The canvases turned out beautifully. Happy Valentine's Day!
