Lesson 62 - Mother's Day Signs

We had fun making this wonderful present for Mother’s Day. Our moms are very important, and the children were very intent on making their present just perfect.
We began by practicing thumb printing on regular paper. The children were encouraged to use their thumbprint and make a heart shape by dipping their thumbs in paint and overlapping them in a heart shape on paper. It took a few tries for some of the younger children to get the hang of it, but in the end they were all successful in making cute little hearts with their thumbs.

When the children were ready, they made their heart shapes on a rectangle cut from a foam poster board, with a sheet of decorative stock paper glued on top. The children made three hearts in three different colors. Underneath their hearts we wrote “MOM”. Then the children were free to decorate their sign with glitter and “jewels”. Once done, we hung the signs out to dry. They were very cute indeed. Wishing all moms a very happy and healthy mother’s day.
