Lesson 60 - Wishing for Spring

This week we began our springtime project. This will be a multi-week project, so we will be completing our canvass in our next class.  I began by giving each child his/her own 8x11 canvas. We began our project on the first day of spring, even though it was snowing outside.

We only used spring colors, green, yellow, blue, and just a bit of pink. The paint was watered down, to give a watercolor effect on the canvas. The children were free to paint their background in any fashion they wished. Some painted stripes, while others just mixed the colors into one big conglomeration of springtime color.

 This will dry, and next time we will add flowers, trees, grass, etc., to complete our canvas.
