Because of last week’s snowstorm, we finished up our Valentine’s Day project today. This week we made a “hand and heart” picture. We used two large pieces of construction paper (yellow and purple) taped together. The children then painted the palms of their hands with brightly colored paint and positioned their hands of the paper so that their thumbs faced each other and the rest of their fingers made a heart shape.
We also taped a picture of each child on the other side of the paper, then the children were able to decorate their papers with candy hearts and heart stickers as well as coloring with crayons and markers.

Everyone enjoyed getting their hands painted and all the children were very creative when decorating their papers. They took their time and with great effort made their finished product very beautiful.
